As You Like It....

Last night Des took us to see our first show in the West End. He managed to rustle up some good deal on the net (in usual Desmond style of course! always up for a freebie or cheap tix!!) at lastminute.com for tix to see Shakespeare's play As You Like It...it starred Helen McCrory who was really quite good as the lead Rosalind and also the lovely Sienna Miller (more famous for her associations with Jude Law and Boho chic style than acting..) who was not too bad as Celia (cuz of Rosalind). Do have to admit it was a bid hard understanding it when it was in old Shakepearean English..but we managed to get the jist of the story in the end..boy meets girl..girl gets banished from family...girl goes into woods..pretends to be man(didn't really get that bit..)..all fall in love..happy ever after..

Our seats were a few rows to the back..but it wasn't really a big theatre...am sure others behind us scored some cheap tix too and had come just to see Sienna coz everytime she was in the scene i'd hear 'is it Sienna?...look there's Sienna.. oh Sienna..good thing she was actually on that night and not the understudy or they would have been upset...

Anyway was nice to go out on the town and hopefully we'll go see a musical next time..but there's just so much to choose from..probably Chicago...or Mary Poppins!
